Why do Darklord use twin neck guitars?

The twin neck guitars played by Stormbringer and Nekromancer are the result of Darklord's eternal quest for the heaviest possible sounds. In the beginning, Darklord were experimenting with very low tunings, but with all six strings tuned so low, lead playing was impossible. A way had to be found to tune earth-shakingly low while still being able to solo, as Darklord have always considered soloing an important, extra dimension to their music. Custom made 7-strings were considered (before Ibanez had ever produced one) but a low 'B' tuning was still not heavy enough. The only solution was one low tuned neck for rhythm and one neck with standard tuning for soloing and for extra 'high' rhythm. The guitars were designed by Darklord and expertly hand crafted by Brian West of Fretco here in Adelaide, South Australia. This now meant that the bass also had to be tuned lower than normal as well.

These guitars are testimony to Darklord's continuous strive for innovation and provide the band with a trademark 'wall of noise' dark, evil sound which is heavier than anything you've ever heard.
